Hailing from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Bishop Marvin L. Sapp became Senior Pastor of Chosen Vessel on September 15, 2019 at the personal request of Senior Pastor Emeritus, Bishop Richard Young. Bishop Young provided exceptional leadership of Chosen Vessel for 40 years and, in April of 2019, announced his retirement effective September 14th, 2019. Bishop Young’s vision has always been to see Chosen Vessel, a jewel of Fort Worth, Texas, filled from front to back. When he passed the baton to Bishop Marvin Sapp, that vision quickly came to fruition.

Bishop Marvin L. Sapp is an internationally renowned preacher and pastor committed to maintaining the standard of Christ in word and in deed, and leading families to do the same. He is uniquely gifted as a powerful preacher and sharp scripture interpreter who makes the word of God crystal clear. He is a multiple-award winning Gospel recording artist, but preaching is his first love -as he is known to say he is "a preacher who happens to sing."
