A mobile application for medicinal plant identification is created, which allows users to identify medicinal plants using image recognition based on their leaves, stem, fruit, flower etc. Using mobile application to identify the medicinal plants is saved people a lot of time by manual searching through dictionary and website.
The application is developed with multi-language support; people can choose a preferred language to use on this system. At this moment, only supported languages are English, Chinese, French and Greek. More supported languages will be added in future.
Once the application is opened one can click on the ‘help icon’ and then go through the detailed step by step information to identify medicinal plants using image recognition based on their leaves, stem, fruit, flower etc. The User Interface is very simple, just the basic knowledge of using Android application and follow the guidelines given in the ‘help option’ is enough to use this application.
