STEMconnect application acts as an aid to provide paramedics with real-time information enabling them to assess situations more effectively, respond appropriately, and enhance overall patient care and operational efficiency.
This is achieved by integrating directly with the Emergency Service's CAD system to provide real time updates to paramedics in the field.
The intended use of the software includes:
Emergency Call Taking (ECT): Provide real-time synchronization of data between the response vehicle, dispatchers, and the CAD enabling rapid response by providing all necessary incident data and routing.
Scheduled Call Taking (SCT): The scheduled transport of non-emergency patients between pre-selected destinations.
Navigation and Routing: Automatic routing to the incident site and to the nearest hospital.
Communication: Direct communication between dispatch and the paramedics in the form of incident related comments.
Resource Management: Real-time tracking of ambulance and individual paramedic vehicles to enhance coordination and response management.
Paramedic Safety and well-being: Utilization of features such as RUOK and the inclusion of a duress button, as well as the reduction of unnecessary user interaction with quick access to critical information.
CAD Interaction: Paramedics assigned to a unit can interact directly with the CAD system to updated information such as:
- Incident Staus
- Unit status
- Crew shift times
- Unit resources
