Dear visitor, we welcome you to this space where, as a digital pilgrim and sharing our faith, we will take a tour of the Sanctuary of El Señor de los Milagros.

This parish community was born into ecclesiastical life on January 16, 1758 and was entrusted to the patronage of Saint Peter, Prince of the Apostles.

It is located just 44 kilometers north of Medellín, right on top of the high mountains of the Cordillera Central, in the north of the Department of Antioquia - Colombia.

The Chico and Ovejas rivers irrigate with their waters one of the most beautiful landscapes that the Antioquia lands offer. All the greens imaginable are there, scattered on the leaves of the trees and on the grasses that cover plains and small hills.

This plot of the Diocese of Santa Rosa de Osos has been named "Parroquia San Pedro" and "Parroquia de San Pedro de Los Milagros". By diocesan Decree 203 of December 12, 2017, it begins to be called "The Lord of Miracles Parish".

History of The Lord of Miracles:

On June 17, 1774 arrival of the Holy Image of The Lord of Miracles to San Pedro.

Traveling vendors, who were heading towards the Aburrá Valley, offered the only image of the Crucified Christ they had left. The image was exposed in the small parish temple. The news spread and many people came to see the Crucifix. They asked for 300 reais for her, but they only offered them 200. When they did not reach an agreement, the travelers packed their Christ in a wooden box and continued on their way down the road that led to Copacabana, formerly called La Tasajera.

In the place called “Tierra Negra”, the freighter of the Image began to feel that his weight was increasing for no reason and very soon he was forced to shore up and rest, because he couldn't cope with it. Helped by his partner, he tried to lift her several times, but it was impossible. Some people passing by tried to help them, and it was also useless. After a while they gave up and decided to return to San Pedro. Once they were on their way back, the weight of the image returned to its initial state.

In this way, the Christ returned to the community and was exposed again for his veneration. Among the people, admiration grew and, finding no explanation for what happened, they took what happened as a miracle: the Crucified manifested with this his will to stay in San Pedro.

Immediately, a series of celestial manifestations begins through the venerable image of the Holy Christ, “maker of a thousand wonders; healer of blind, maimed and crippled ”. This leads the inhabitants of that time to baptize him with the name of "Lord of the Miracle". Years later, thanks to the numerous blessings he lavished on his devotees, they began to call him: "The Lord of Miracles."

On September 14, 1974, the liturgical day of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, a monument was erected in the place "Tierra Negra" to commemorate the two hundred years of the event and these words were captured there: In this place called "black land" where, towards the second half of the 18th century, the miracle of the Holy Crucifix that refused to leave San Pedro was verified. "Thank you, Lord, because you stayed with us."
